Missouri's Net Metering and Easy Connection Act requires retail electric suppliers to offer net metering for qualifying renewable systems up to 100 kW, with excess generation credited at no less than the utility's avoided fuel cost and carried to the next billing period. The Missouri PSC rule requires each regulated utility's net-metering rate to equal its cogeneration rate. Compensation mechanismStatutory net metering: imports and exports are measured over the billing period; when exports exceed imports, the customer is credited at least the utility's avoided fuel cost and the credit is applied to the following billing period.
